The iconic “auld clay daubin” Famous Blacksmiths shop at the heart of Gretna Green has begun a new chapter in its romantic history.
A £1.5 million investment of the border site, which has become world famous for its romantic weddings, sees it open to the public today as new immersive tourist attraction.
Called The Famous Blacksmiths Gretna Green Experience, it is the UK’s first attraction dedicated to love and marriage.
The renovation includes a new wedding room called The Forge and visitors will be able to learn of its renowned tales of romance and rebellion through the latest cutting edge technology.
That includes a 360 degree show, which makes the audience feel part of the action.
“This is our way of telling our love story to the world and we can’t wait to welcome visitors from across the country and the globe to our famous destination at the gateway to Scotland.”
