Passengers travelling between Newcastle and Stockton will have extra trips to choose from each week as Keolis Hunter tweaks the timetable.
From August 10, an additional 19 ferry services will be added, and some minor changes made to the ferry timetable during the evening and night, to accommodate staff breaks at the new ferry office at Stockton.
Keolis Hunter general manager Arsene Durand-Raucher said the team had worked to continue to improve the services between Queens Wharf and Stockton.
"We know the ferry is a hugely important link between Stockton and the city, for residents, workers and visitors," Mr Durand-Raucher said.
"This timetable change aims to further increase ferry services and provide required breaks for our staff while minimising impacts to customers."
Mr Durand-Raucher said the adjustments would affect evening and late ferry trips on weekdays and weekends to support the change in location for meal breaks.
He said extra trips had been added each morning and on weeknights and Saturdays.
"In the lead up to the changes on 10 August, I encourage our ferry customers to head to newcastletransport.info, their favourite travel app or scan the QR code at the wharves and check their trip," he said.
Keolis Hunter ferry master Jess Plumsted said the ferry crew had settled into their new home and were enjoying being part of the Stockton community.
"It's a beautiful new space, and it's already starting to feel quite homely," Ms Plumsted said.
"Everyone at Stockton has also gone out of their way to make us feel welcome."
In May, the state government said it would spend $5 million on mechanical and technical improvements to the MV Shortland and MV Hunter over the next 18 months, in the hope of putting an end to failures that had plagued the route for more than a year.
A Transport for NSW spokeswoman said it was continuing to plan for life extension works at each of the vessels' next major docking.
"The MV Shortland docking is due on August 23, 2026, while the MV Hunter docking is due on August 13, 2027," she said.
"There is a three-month docking window on each side of these dates. Transport expects to have further advice in early August."
