The President of Albania has congratulated Albian Ajeti on signing for Celtic.
Ilir Meta has expressed his adoration for Celtic on numerous occasions, at one point even running along a beach shouting "Hail Hail".
Ajeti was confirmed as a Celtic player today, leaving West Ham for £5m and signing a four-year contract with the Scottish champions.
The 23-year-old players for the Swiss national team, but both of his parents are Albanian.
Meta tweeted: "Congratulations and much success to Albian Ajeti for number 10 and #CelticFC for TEN-IN-A-ROW! Hail Hail! #WelcomeAjeti."
Speaking on Celtic TV, Ajeti said: “I’m very happy that everything is done now and I’m really looking forward to meeting up with my new team-mates.
“I know a lot about the club, they’re a big traditional club and I think everyone knows Celtic.
“I played with Moi Elyounoussi back in the day at Basel. He’s a good boy and I’m really happy that we get the chance to play together again. He called me and text me a couple of times, he knew my situation and he knows me as a player. He tried to convince me to come here, but it wasn’t needed!"
Ajeti could make his Premiership debut for Neil Lennon's side in the match against Dundee United at Tannadice on August 22.
