New CCTV footage released in hunt for Manchester man missing for over a month

Detectives have released new CCTV footage in their search for a man who has been missing for more than month.

John Houghton, 55, from Blackley has been missing from his home address at The Quadrant since 12 September.

Police have now released CCTV footage from Grangepark Road featuring a man they believe to be John.

Detective Inspector Claire Moss, from City of Manchester North CID, said: "Sadly, we have still been unable to locate John and we are increasingly concerned for his welfare.

"We have now located additional CCTV footage from the night he went missing, which appears to show him walking along Grangepark Road and towards Hall Moss Road at around 2am on September 12.

"If this is you and not John, please let us know so that we can eliminate this footage from our enquiries.

"I urge anyone who was in this area at this time to please think about whether you may have seen this person.

"Any bit of information, no matter how small it is, could offer us with a new lead and help find John."

John is also known to regularly visit Oldham, and was seen in the Limeside area of the town on the Wednesday before his disappearance.

John's nephew Ryan Houghton, from Oldham, told the M.E.N last month the disappearance has come as a shock and his family are desperate to see him return home.

"We just want him to be found and to make sure he is safe," said Ryan.

"He has nephews, grandkids, brothers and sisters - there is a family here that cares about him.

"We're all so worried. He has never done anything like this before."

Ryan says that John often wears a hat and can be seen carrying a rucksack.

Greater Manchester Police has becoming increasingly concerned about John, who is described as a 'high-risk missing person'.

He suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) - a lung condition which means he has difficulty breathing.
