New CCTV clue after 'pre-planned hit' on cash machine outside Worksop store

A new CCTV image has been released after a cash machine was stolen in a 'pre-planned hit'.

Nottinghamshire Police were called just before 12.15am on Friday, July 3 to a ram raid at the Co-Op in Plantation Hill, Worksop.

It was reported that a group of people used power tools to get into the shop, before using a chain on a silver 4x4 to drag the front of the cash machine out.

Prior to the vehicle leaving the car park, it has a near-miss with another vehicle travelling along Plantation Hill from the direction of Thackeray Close towards Sitwell Road.

In a new image released by the police, four figures can be seen as well as the 4x4.

Detective Inspector Steve Wragg said: “This was clearly a pre-planned hit, which has caused a lot of disruption to a valued local business.

“Our investigation into this is well underway. However, I would still encourage anyone with information, and in particular anyone who may have seen a silver 4x4 in the area, to come forward.

“I am particularly keen to speak to the driver that was travelling along Plantation Hill.

“We’re determined to find those responsible and to make sure that crime does not pay.”

Anyone who saw what happened should call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 9 of 3 July 2020.
