New Castle Douglas charity shop proves popular - with two and four legged customers!

A new charity shop in Castle Douglas is proving popular – with two and four legged customers.

The outlet on King Street has opened to support the work of the 3Rs Horse Rescue Centre near Gatehouse.

And horses from the centre recently paid a visit as part of their whistle stop tours of Stewartry towns.

One horse, Lola, was even given a tour of the shop and was very impressed, despite the lack of treats.

The horses and riders also paid a trip to Carlingwark House, where they had a lovely welcome from staff and residents.

One of them was Letty Lancaster, who turned 100 in January and was a keen dancer.

Anyone who would like to donate to the centre or find out more can do so by visiting www.3rshorserescuecentre.co.uk.
