New Caroline Flack documentary delves into the presenter's life and death

A new trailer for an upcoming documentary on the life and death of TV star Caroline Flack shows the presenter in tears.

The star says "the only person I ever hurt is myself" in the trailer, which promises to 'delve behind the headlines' to reveal more about Caroline.

Caroline died by suicide on February 15, 2020. She was only 40 years old.

Along with footage of the Love Island host, the documentary shows her Xtra Factor co-host Olly Murs breaking down as he talks about his friend.

“I just wish I could have told her not to do it," he says. "I never got the opportunity to do that."

The new Channel 4 documentary features Caroline's family and friends, including fellow TV star Dermot O'Leary.

He says: "Those demons can start to play with you."

Caroline's mother Christine Flack says: "She was my little girl, it doesn’t actually seem real."

Jody, Caroline's twin sister, has been interviewed for the documentary, titled Caroline Flack: Her Life and Death.

Channel 4 says it intends to "delve beyond the headlines to reveal the complex woman behind the public persona, as well as exploring the pressures that fame, mental health, press and social media had on Caroline throughout her life".

Childhood home videos and never-before-seen footage will feature in the film, which is yet to get a release date.

Coroner Mary Hassell found Caroline had taken her own life because she knew she was being prosecuted for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend, Lewis Burton, and could not face the press coverage.
