New Cards in the MLB the Show 25 Multiplayer 6 Program

The 6th Inning is here in MLB The Show 25, and that means it’s time for a brand-new multiplayer program. New players are available in the Multiplayer 6 program, and two new bosses are available if you achieve World Series level in Ranked. Some of them might really help your team, so let’s dive into everything new.

Multiplayer 6 Program

The new program, like the five before it, will have two drops of challenges to complete to advance through it. As a result, you won’t be able to unlock everything right away. The first drop will get your 75 Multiplayer 6 program stars. That will get you halfway through the program, and two new cards to insert into your lineup.

By the time you get to 75 program stars, you’ll get the following things plus two player cards:

  • 50,000 XP
  • Corn on the Cobb Bat Skin
  • 5 MLB The Show Packs, 2 Ballin’ Is A Habit Packs, Headliners Pack, Bat Skin Rewind Pack
  • 3 Deluxe Choice Packs
  • Premier Choice Pack

New Players In Multiplayer 6 Program

At five program stars, you’ll get a Robb Nen 98 overall Marlins closer card. Nen has a nasty fastball with an outlier attached, so it will reach 102 MPH or more. His splitter will keep hitters off balance, and Nen will likely be a decent 6th or 7th inning option in ranked games. He will be highly effective after using a junkball starter like Kershaw or Valenzuela.

When you reach 50 program stars, Brewers legend Robin Yount will be yours. Yount is a 99 overall shortstop who brings high contact and vision, but low to mid-range attributes in the power department. He’s a gold caliber defender, though. With no secondary position, this card is limited to shortstop and designated hitter.

In Drop 2, you’ll get a World Series Rewind player at 90 stars and another to-be-determined player card at 100 stars.

New World Series Players

They aren’t part of the Multiplayer program, but new World Series cards are available. If you can attain a rating of 800 or better in Ranked, you’ll be able to choose between a starting pitcher and a legendary right fielder.

Clay Buchholz is a 99 overall starter from the Boston Red Sox. It’s Buchholz’s No-Hitter card from 2007, when the rookie no-hit the Orioles in just his second big league start. Being a no-hitter card, Buchholz has high Hits/9 at 116 and solid Clutch at 111. A sinker-cutter combo is always useful, and Buchholz should be serviceable in a lot of team’s rotations.

Larry Walker is a legend from the left side of the plate. His Nationals Silver Slugger card (from his Expos days) is high in contact and above average in power. The high vision will also benefit players. Walker brings diamond-level defense to go along with his diamond hitting.

Along with the new 6th Inning program, there’s a lot of new content in MLB The Show 25.
