New Cardinals RB James Conner sees similarities between him, Chase Edmonds

The Arizona Cardinals have added a very different looking running back to the team in James Conner. Chase Edmonds is 5-9 and 210 pounds. Conner is 6-1 and 233 pounds. He is a big back.

While most see a pair of backs who contrast and complement one another for the offense, Conner thinks the two are similar.

“I think Chase can do it all and I believe I can do it all,” he told reporters when he was introduced after signing his one-year, $1.75 million contract.

Conner is a fan what Edmonds offers.

“His decision-making, his speed,” he said. “He runs hard, too. He’s got that dog mentality just like I do, so we’re just going to roll.”

Both players grew up in Pennsylvania but did not cross paths.

There is not a set role carved out for Conner, but he says “all that stuff will take care of itself.”

There is one thing he guarantees, though. “I’m going to play hard,” he said. “That’s going to be my role.”
