New business initiative to boost Exeter’s B2B trade

A group has come together to form a partnership which hopes to keep as much B2B trade in Exeter as possible.

To further the growth of Exeter and its business community, Air Marketing Group in partnership with Exeter City Council, Exeter Live Better and Exeter Chamber have teamed up to launch a new business initiative to reduce the amount of B2B trade that leaves the city.

The initiative, called Tribe, is a first for Exeter and will focus on increasing local collaboration to retain business in the city.

Where businesses do outsource business services beyond the city, Tribe will help local businesses look closer to home to find cost-effective services, driving forward economic growth in Exeter.

By partnering with local businesses who offer B2B services, Tribe will encourage local buying behaviour and provide a new resource to drive businesses opportunities.

Managing director at Air Marketing Group, Owen Richards said: “Exeter is a dynamic and ever-growing city, full of innovation and industry leading businesses.

"We have a wealth of resources to keep B2B in Exeter and so our mission is to reduce the number of services that are outsourced further afield and focus on the talent and skills that we have within the city.”

Derek Phillips, vice president of Exeter Chamber said: “We are pleased to support this initiative to encourage local purchasing within the city and sub-region.”

Tribe is a not for profit initiative that will build a community of like-minded businesses.  To kick-start the initiative, the Tribe Survey will be launched in August with the aim of surveying 5,000 Exeter businesses.

Available for public viewing in January 2020, findings from the survey will provide a detailed report of changes needed to improve the B2B economy.
