New bushfire support position at Cessnock
A new position has been appointed at Cessnock City Council to assist people affected by the devastating 2019/20 bushfires.
Melissa Boucher recently started in the community recovery officer position, and will be the key contact for bushfire support inquires until August 2021.
"I am very much looking forward to getting out into the community to identify needs, help develop local recovery programs and assist people in accessing information and resources to continue their road to recovery," Ms Boucher said.
The role, which was funded by the NSW and Commonwealth Governments, is one of 22 recovery positions appointed to fire affected communities in NSW.
Cessnock was the only Hunter council to receive one.
