A new bus lane enforcement camera has been set on a busy road in Edinburgh and motorists run the risk of a £60 fine if they use them during restricted hours.
The camera has gone live on Liberton Road, between Gilmerton Road and Lady Road, however warning notices will be issued during the first two weeks of operation but fines will be issued from 9 December.
Another new bus lane camera recently went live on Calder Road, between between Saughton Road and Stevenson Drive and are now being used to issue fines to drivers caught using them.
When can I use bus lanes?
All vehicles can use bus lanes outside peak times, that is from 9.30am to 4pm and 6.30pm to 7.30am Monday to Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday.
You can receive a £60 fine for driving in a bus lane or through a bus gate during controlled hours but this charge is reduced to £30 if you pay within 14 days of receiving your charge notice.
Motorcycles are also now also allowed to use peak time bus lanes at any time.
