New Burger King restaurant creating 30 new jobs in Cardiff

A new Burger King restaurant is creating 30 new jobs in Cardiff.

The new venue will be opening its doors at Dunleavy Retail Park, in Cardiff Bay.

Ahead of the restaurant opening , Burger King UK will be recruiting 25 restaurant ‘Crew’ members, which span both front of house and kitchen roles at the new site. Five managerial roles are also being created.

Staff perks include free meals at work plus 50% off food and drink for friends and family.

The crew job roles will be released in early May, closer to the opening date of the restaurant.

Jeremy Wright, people director of Burger King UK, said: “During what has been a very challenging year for many businesses, we are delighted to be creating new job and career opportunities in the area, and look forward to welcoming 30 new starters into the Burger King family, at our new Cardiff restaurant.

“We continue to be bold and ambitious in our growth plans across both locations and job opportunities.”

Burger King recently closed one of its venues, which had been operating for decades, in Cardiff city centre.

The former site on Queen Street is being replaced by a Filipino fried chicken chain.

Jollibee is one of the biggest and fastest growing Asian restaurant companies in the world and outsells even the likes of McDonalds and KFC in the Phillipines.

The brand opened its first international restaurant in 1987 and is now in more than 1,466 locations worldwide, with Europe and the UK being eyed up as part of a £30m ongoing expansion.
