New-build houses covered in paint by vandal offered to be jet washed for free

An industrial jet wash specialist has offered to cleanse new-build houses daubed with blue paint by vandals - free of charge.

The paint was thrown on to six properties at a new development off Union Road in the Wardle area of Rochdale on Thursday night.

Former doorman Wayne Fielding only launched his business, J3tworx four months ago, in Milnrow Road, Rochdale.

He was so appalled by the act, he has contacted the estate agent marketing the properties, Keystone, offering to clean off the paint at no charge.

"I invested £1,800 in one of the best jet washers on the market when I launched the business," said father-of-five Wayne, 34.

"What they've done to those houses is awful. I'm happy to go and do my best to get rid of the paint. It's the least I can do."

Wayne launched his industrial jet washing venture after work as a doorman dried up. He specialises in driveways, residential and industrial buildings.

A spokesperson for Keystone said the company would be contacting Wayne after the Manchester Evening News informed them of the offer.

"It is a very generous thing to do," they said. "We will certainly get in touch with him and we thank him."

The affected development features three and four-bed properties which are up for sale for between £195,000 and £300,000.

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 8pm, police received a report of vandalism on Union Road, Wardle.

"Officers attended and established paint had been thrown on to a number of houses on a development, causing material damage.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
