New brunch club launched as Princes Square bar reveals £40k makeover

There's a brand-new brunch party coming to Glasgow - and it involves live music, tasty food and a 22-litre prosecco dispenser.

As of Easter Sunday, October Cafe in Princes Square will be hosting monthly Funday Brunch Club events, promising "good vibes, good food and good music".

The ever-popular terrace bar, based in Buchanan Street, is sporting a new look following a £40,000 makeover; transforming it into an Instagram-worthy spot, complete with blossom trees, a flower-wall and neon lights.

To coincide with the reveal of the new look, the bar is introducing all-new brunch events, during which customers can enjoy tasty brunch offerings washed down with a range of delicious cocktails.

At the first highly-anticipated event - which takes place from 1pm until midnight on April 21 - a live saxophone player will be on hand to keep folks entertained along with three DJs who will play back-to-back into the late hours.

Customers will be able to get their hands on October Cafe's famous cocktails including frozen pornstar martinis, strawberry daquiris and raspberry mojitos and food will be served until 4pm.

The event is sponsored by Moet, meaning there will even be champagne giveaway competitions happening throughout the night.

If that wasn't enough, there will be a massive water dispenser filled with five gallons (that's 22 litres) of prosecco for people to enjoy after all the dancing makes them thirsty.

Kyle Brawley, a resident DJ at October Cafe, is one of the team behind the Funday Brunch Club events.

He said: "I noticed there were lots of brunch events happening overseas, in Dubai and stuff. They are pretty popular, so we wanted to try it here to see how it goes. October Cafe has just had a bit of a refurb so it has worked out perfect timing.

"We want to make it a monthly event, happening on one Sunday every month. Easter Sunday is the launch event. We've sold out every table for the launch party so it's been a great response already."

All of the tables for the Funday Brunch event on Easter Sunday have already been booked however the guest list is still open and the event is totally free, meaning folks can still turn up on the day.

If you miss the chance of going to the launch party, keep your eyes peeled for future events as they'll be taking place on one Sunday every month.

Kyle added: "We're going to switch it up each month. We want to bring through some singers next time and maybe some magicians in the future just to bring a party atmosphere to the place.

"But it's basically somewhere people can go, have something to eat and have a few drinks. It's an all day party. The good thing with this is it's suitable for a wide range of people. It doesn't matter if you're younger or older it will be a good atmosphere for everyone."
