New Broadway on Demand streaming service to launch in UK in June with 100 shows

A brand new streaming service will give UK audiences access to an archive of more than 100 theatre shows from New York and around the world.

Broadway on Demand, which launches on this side of the pond in June, promises a library of recorded plays, exclusive livestream events, interactive platforms and educational resources.

It will launch with a live concert series, 30 Days of Opening Nights, which will stream from Hollywood’s Bourbon Room raising funds for theatre-makers and technicians out of work because of the pandemic.

The shows available haven’t been announced yet, but viewers will be able to watch the concert by signing up for free membership to Broadway on Demand. Premium subscriptions will give access to additional material.

The new platform joins Broadway HD, a subscription service which also holds an archive of plays and musicals.
