New branch of fashion store selling second-hand bargains appears in Beeston

The latest venue in a small local chain of second-hand fashion shops looks set to open in Beeston.

The eighth installment from Nottingham-based White Rose has appeared in Beeston High Road, next door to the WH Smith and Post Office.

The fashion boutique has seven other sites across the county - six in Nottingham city centre and one in Newark.

If you're not familiar with the name the shops sells good quality second-hand clothes at a snip of the usual price - with proceeds going to a very good cause.

Brands include popular labels such as Nike, Topshop and Zara but you may also come across high-end names such as Ralph Lauren and even the occasional Gucci.

All the items are hand-picked to ensure the quality, but are usually available for around a quarter of the original price with the ethos of sustainable shopping.

White Rose Recycled Fashion was established as a social enterprise in 2009 by two Nottingham Trent University graduates.

Proceeds from sales go towards the Aegis Trust, founded by Dr James Smith, chief executive of the National Holocaust Centre in the Nottinghamshire village of Laxton. The organisation campaigns to prevent worldwide genocide and crimes against humanity, and runs peace-building programmes.
