New boutique hotel and hostel aimed at 'millennials' set to open in Glasgow next year

Glasgow's hotel and hospitality sector is set to receive a boost with the news that French hotel and resort company Accor are to open a second new hotel in the city next year.

Business Traveller report that the openings will see the multinational hospitality company debut two new 'brands' in the UK in their 'Tribe' and 'Jo and Joe' hotels.

The Tribe line of hotels are described as offering a “high-quality hotel experience at an affordable price,” with a “carefully curated offer that focuses on style rather than price", and feature facilities and amenities include bike rental, gyms, co-working and meeting spaces and smart TV's.

Launched in 2016 in Perth, Australia, the new Glasgow hotel will be the first in Europe as part of a ten-hotel expansion plan by 2022.

As we reported back in June, the 17-storey hotel will overlook the River Clyde on Clyde Street in the city centre and will have 290 rooms.

Meanwhile, the newly announced 'Jo and Joe' hotel will offer “the best of private-rental, hostel and hotel formats” that is comprising "designed to meet the expectations of Millennials and all those who value sharing, spontaneity and experience”.

The Glasgow location will be the first such hotel in the UK, joining the existing two in France and the upcoming worldwide locations of Rome, Rio De Janeiro and Budapest.
