Another red-hot blast of scorching heat is predicted to bake parts of Britain at the end of this week.
The mercury will soar during the second half of the working week, according to forecasters, with Thursday, Friday and Saturday likely to top 30C - especially in the south east.
Heat will sweep across the country from the Mediterranean where temperature records have been broken in Spain.
San Sebastian on Spain’s northern coast witnessed temperatures of 42C (107F) on Thursday – the hottest temperature there since records began in 1955, the national weather agency Aemet said.
While Palma de Mallorca set a local record of 40.6C (105F).
There will be a mixture of sunny spells and frequent showers for many locations during the early part of this week.
Outbreaks of rain will continue in Northern Ireland and Scotland tomorrow with the wet conditions probably extending into Wales and north west England. Much of southern and central England should stay dry and bright.
It will start to feel warmer by midweek but the heat will arrive by Thursday with highs of 33C (91F) possible.
Forecaster The Weather Outlook started: "Friday is likely to be even hotter in southern and central regions.
"Temperatures could climb to 35C (95F) in the south and the warmth will be spreading into northern England. Across Northern Ireland and Scotland there is a risk of rain.
"Details for the weekend are uncertain. Computer models are split with some showing thundery conditions developing and cooler air returning southeastwards. Others keep it hot into next week."
UK Weather Updates added: "First burst of heat coming up from Wednesday and onwards. Friday looking to be like another hot day across SE parts of England with mid 30s possible again."

There will be a mixture of sunny spells and a scattering of showers, with the showers mainly over eastern areas by afternoon, when some will be heavy.
Tonight
Any showers soon fading, then dry with clear spells, but cloud increasing to bring rain to Northern Ireland and western Scotland overnight.
Tuesday
Cloudy and windy with outbreaks of rain across northern areas, heavy and persistent in western Scotland. Many southern areas dry and bright with best of sunshine in the south-east.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday
Cloudy with rain in the north easing as it moves southeast through Wednesday, leaving the rest of the week mostly dry with sunny spells as it becomes much warmer.
