The Black Ops 7 beta is currently active, but currently only for those who have pre-purchased the game. As such, Treyarch is doing a lot of testing and collecting feedback, and has introduced a queue for precisely that purpose: Open Moshpit, a collection of modes that will have “minimal” skill consideration.
Two new playlists are coming to the Black Ops 7 beta, Moshpit and Open Moshpit, Treyarch has announced. Both are going to contain those game modes usually found within them: Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Domination, Hardpoint, and Overload. However, Open Moshpit “features classic matchmaking where skill is minimally considered,” meaning it won't have SBMM in the same way the regular queue does.
This is huge news for all Call of Duty fans, who have been complaining about SBMM and its execution for years now. Removing that provides a random, classic matchmaking feel, where every game can be comprised of players with all sorts of skill levels, as this is “minimally considered” in the new Open Moshpit playlist.
I, for one, am very excited about this, as this has been a major gripe I've had with Call of Duty for a while. It's an issue I have with Battlefield 6, which will also feature a form of SBMM, albeit for team balancing purposes in-match, rather than for lobby creation.
So, if you have access or will jump into the BO7 open beta, rejoice that you'll finally be able to have that classic CoD matchmaking experience with this new playlist.
