New Birmingham base for engineering firms

Two expanding engineering firms have moved to a new home in central Birmingham.

Baker & Finnemore and Cirteq, which both specialise in making precision fasteners, will both use the 10,000 sq ft property in the Jewellery Quarter mainly for storage.

Both companies have their headquarters in Keighley, West Yorkshire, and are owned by German group Titgemeyer whose UK head office is in Tipton.

Commercial property agency Siddall Jones, acting on behalf of landlord Pall Mall Estates, agreed a rental deal worth £47,500 per year for a ten-year lease, with a potential break clause in 2025.

It includes a break clause in case the landlord wants to redevelop the site for city centre apartments at a future date.

Siddall Jones' associate director Ryan Lynch said: "We are delighted to have agreed a rental to Cirteq and Baker & Finnemore.

"Due to the appetite for residential development, we have safeguarded our client's position by including provision for a rolling development break."
