Three exhibitions are being opened next month which will highlight the work of artists in Belfast.
The exhibitions will open at Belfast Exposed, a contemporary photography organisation based in the city centre.
Belfast Exposed is responsible for commissioning, publishing and showing work by artists and photographers from Northern Ireland and across the world.
This August, the organisation will be hosting exhibitions from a range of different artists.
In their first gallery, Belfast Exposed will present Jerwood/Photoworks Awards 2020, which showcases new photographic works by two early-career artists, Silvia Rosi and Theo Simpson.
Both awardee artists explore the idea of history through their photographic practices, across themes of family, industry, identity and architecture.
In their second gallery will be an exhibition titled A Conversation Ensued, Nobody Said A Word, by Colin Darke & Yvonne Kennan.
The exhibition explores two individual interpreters with pre-existing concerns, interests and concepts considering and replying to the others. The interaction develops, grows, common ground is found, differences are highlighted, fleshed out and analysed, acknowledged, and the conversation continues.
The final exhibition will be Above The Fold , by Noel Bowler (pictured above).
Above The Fold is the culmination of an ambitious long-term project (2012-2020) from Irish artist Noel Bowler. Using his signature medium format film camera to photograph newspaper newsrooms across Europe, the United States and Asia, his unique project shows us the physical space and the structural layers that have formed the foundation of our modern press.
