New base for Hawkins Logistics

A logistics and storage firm has expanded its operations in the West Midlands by signing up for additional warehouse space.

Hawkins Logistics, which was founded in 2009, has taken an additional 102,176 sq ft unit on Fradley Park, in Lichfield, to meet growing demand from clients.

It currently employs more than 100 staff at sites in Rugeley and at an existing head office on Fradley Park and operates more than 70 vehicles.

Commercial director Tom Irons said: "Due to increased customer demand and the immediate success at our first Fradley site, we made the swift decision to expand our warehousing portfolio even further.

"This gives us the opportunity to support our new customer demand as well as offering increased availability and flexibility to current clients."

Commercial property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton agreed the letting with Hawkins Logistics only a week after the previous tenant vacated the building.

Matt Jarvis, senior fund manager with landlord LGIM Real Assets, added: "The industrial sector has remained incredibly resilient throughout the coronavirus pandemic with occupational demand for well-managed, high-quality assets on the rise.

"I am delighted that Hawkins Logistics have taken additional space to accommodate its ambitious growth plans."
