New barn conversions available to rent on historic Notts estate - take a look inside

With lockdown restrictions now eased, property viewings are back in business - albeit at a social distance.

This includes six new barn conversions available to rent on one of Nottinghamshire's historic estates.

Despite being completed at the start of the year no house-hunters have been able to look inside the renovated properties at Welbeck yet, as lockdown measures came in to force shortly after they were finished.

But now Hall Farm Barns is open for socially distanced viewings. Safety measures have been put in place and people are now able to view the six new 2, 3, and 4-bedroom homes, which start from £750 a month and go up to £1,400.

As part of the 15,000-acre estate that surrounds Welbeck Abbey, the homes come with a wealth of history with the Abbey, itself dating back to 1153, once home to a succession of Dukes of Portland.

The houses were originally agricultural buildings used by the Holbeck Hall Farm in the village and once housed a Catholic chapel with two resident Jesuit priests between 1690 and 1730. The barns though have not been used for many years and their conversion incorporates many original quirky period features including beams and thick stone walls.

Ian Goodwin, Chief Executive Officer at Welbeck Estates Company Ltd, said: “These are extraordinary buildings and I am delighted to see them transformed into homes. We are really pleased to be able to offer socially distanced viewings now and give people the chance to step inside.”

The barn conversion follows the recent development of the former Springfield Farm at Belph, on the edge of the Welbeck estate. The barn and cottages at Belph, which date back to the 19 th century, have also been fully converted into homes that are now available for sale. Hall Farm Barns are situated within a quiet part of the estate at Holbeck and within a short distance of The Harley Gallery, The Portland Collection, The Harley Café and Welbeck Farm Shop.
