New bar The Purple Peacock brings 'drunch' to Newcastle with bottomless Laurent-Perrier champagne

We know from previous stories on bottomless brunches in the past, that readers can't get enough but there's a new one just been launched that takes things up a notch.

And it's all down to the opening of a new bar and restaurant , which has landed right in the centre of the city, with a name that signals its bold intentions.

Taking over the premises previously occupied by Fat Buddha, on 55 Degrees Roundabout and, while its extensive food menu offers plenty to tickle the tastebuds - including sharing Seafood Cauldrons and a huge sharing Tomahawk Steak, as well as a Purple Peacock Golden Egg for dessert - it's the drinks menu that has instantly demanded our attention.

If you're partial to a drop of mothers' ruin, there is a Pick & Mix offer on gin, with four Whitley Neill gins, four tonics and four fruits for £25.

But as fabulous as that sounds, it's all about the 'drunch' for us. Move aside brunch, you're soooo last year!

The Purple Peacock's drunch packages claim to offer '90 minutes of paradise' and are served every day from 3 - 6pm.

You can pick three dishes from a range of small plates including satay chicken skewers, crispy fried squid and steamed duck dumplings and wash them down with either Bottomless Prosecco for £30, Bottomless Laurent-Perrier champagne for £45 or even better, Laurent-Perrier Rose for £60.
