New 'Banksy' in Bristol appears on wall of man's old bedroom and he moved out a week ago

A man has revealed he moved out of the 'Banksy' house in Bristol around a week ago and 'can't believe' it appears to now bear a mural from the elusive street artist.

Excitement is building over the new addition to Bristol's famous Vale Street - which seems to have all the hallmarks of an original from the artist who first plied his street in the city.

The creation has appeared on the side of a semi-detached house in Totterdown and depicts a woman sneezing, sending her dentures flying through the air.

Locals and the media are now in a frenzy over the artwork and Fred Loosmore, 28, said he only moved out around a week ago and that a walk-in wardrobe is on the other side of the mural.

Fred said: “I just moved out. We’ve been in and out for a week or so. It’s actually on the outside wall of what was my bedroom. There’s a big walk-in wardrobe on the other side.

"We’ve got a furniture company so we’re bringing down a big bit of acrylic plastic to cover it up. Obviously things like this can get defaced and we don’t want that to happen.”

Fred said he wasn’t sorry he had moved out: “I can still come and see it can’t I?”

“I can’t believe it”

Banksy murals tend to poke fun at current affairs, so suggestions were made that the sneeze referred to Covid-19.

One Totterdown woman added that it could be a nod towards the strong wind on Vale Street.

Vale Street is known for being the steepest street in England and is home to an annual egg-rolling competition.
