Ayr United's search for a new manager has begun following the club's parting of ways with Mark Kerr.
Somerset bosses say "potential candidates" have been identified as they bid to arrest an alarming decline in form.
A run of just one win in 10 games that leaves the club second-bottom of the Championship ultimately cost Kerr his job this afternoon.
Now Ayr are casting the net by inviting applications for the vacant hotseat.
Former Dundee and Ross County manager, Jim McIntyre, is among those set to throw his hat in the ring, the Ayrshire Post understands.
McIntyre, 48, came close to being appointed at Somerset in 2019 when Ayr eventually plumped to promote Kerr.
And it's believed the former Dundee United, Reading and Kilmarnock striker is set to make his move for the shortlist again.
New Ayr chairman, David Smith, has confirmed targets are being lined up as part of the recruitment process.
Airdrie boss, Ian Murray, and Montrose chief, Stewart Petrie, are likely to feature high on any potential list after doing impressive jobs at both League One clubs.

Former Morton boss David Hopkin and ex-Falkirk manager Peter Houston are others to have been touted since news of Kerr's departure broke earlier today.
Stuart Kettlewell, just out of a job after being sacked by Ross County, is another likely to be linked with the post.
And James McFadden, former assistant manager at Motherwell and coach for the Scotland National Team, is another potential lively outsider.
The 37-year-old is currently completing his Pro Licence with the Scottish FA.
The club has confirmed it will accept applications until 5pm on Monday, March 8.
They should be sent to applications@ayrunitedfc.co.uk
