New Asda 'packaging changes' cuts customer's weekly shop to £1

An Asda shopper has shared an amazing haul on social media after cutting their weekly shop to £1.05 after 'packaging changes' at the store.

The customer explained that an Asda member of staff said stock was being cleared because of changes to the packaging.

Other shoppers took to Facebook to share how they've been hunting in their local branches for the bargains.

Lucky customers are finding their weekly shops are costing them next to nothing and posted their hauls online too.

Customers have reported prices being slashed at stores across the country, reports BirminghamLive.

One woman shared a picture of the items she bought to stock up her freezer, including nine bags of beef strips, two bags of chicken drumsticks and four bags of mince - with the receipts showing a total charge of just over £1 after further discounts.

She wrote: "Not sure how or why but got all this for just £1.05 altogether. The more freezer meat I bought the more discount I got."

And another chipped in with: "Asda have reduced absolutely loads of freezer food really cheap, this is just the stuff I got but there was a load of things I didn't get and stuff that had sold out."

They then added: "Just in their normal places, the woman who worked there said it's due to a packaging change and a big change that's happening since being taken over. This is all Asdas but mine is from Asda Gosforth, Newcastle."

Last week, one woman shared her simple tricks to getting 70p food from Tesco, Asda and Aldi.
