Gransta Tokyo has opened at JR Tokyo Station as one of the largest in-station commercial complexes in JR East stations.

The shopping mall, which opened Monday, can be found within the ticket gates on the first floor around the station's northern passage, which connects the station's Marunouchi North Gate and Yaesu North Gate, as well as on the underground floor. There are about 150 restaurants and shops, with their total floor space reaching about 11,300 square meters.

Some of the establishments are taking advantage of their location, such as a sushi restaurant that serves seafood delivered the same day using Shinkansen bullet train services, while Station Restaurant the Central includes a space that look like a train dining car and offers yoshoku, Japanese-style Western dishes.

Square Zero is an open-ceiling space located on the underground floor that has a waiting space and digital signage. This square can also be used for events.

On the underground floor, a new ticket gate has been set up on Gransta Tokyo's north side to connect it with an underpass at the station.

"We're aiming to make this complex something that people feel like visiting as a destination," said an official in charge of Gransta Tokyo.
