New Apple Exclusive Reveals Massive iPhone 13 Upgrade

Apple’s iPhone 13 lineup is expected to have a popular redesign, increased battery life and all-new displays. But now an exclusive leak has revealed two upgrades no one expected.

Turning heads is MySmartPrice (which has a great track record) after it revealed renders of the iPhone 13 with an eye-opening design change to the back camera and a (potentially) massive upgrade to front dual cameras.

The more subtle of the two is on the back, where MySmartPrice’s render shows the iPhone 13 with a diagonal dual-camera arrangement and larger lenses. Apple is tipped to heavily upgrade the iPhone 13 range’s camera experience and this could be connected. That said, the render does show that LiDAR will again be missing, leaving it as an exclusive for the Pro models.

The bigger news is on the other side where MySmartPrice speculates that Apple could be fitting two front cameras. “The usual placement is two cutouts on the left of the notch, with the earpiece in the middle, and another cutout for the camera on the right of the notch,” the site explains. “In this [render] though, the three cutouts are placed right next to each other, which makes you wonder why Apple would pick such a design unless it wanted to put two cameras on the front this year.”

To call this a surprise would be a massive understatement. The MySmartPrice renders do show the much tipped smaller notch and Apple has to rework the internal arrangement of the camera and Face ID components to achieve it, so there could be confusion stemming from this. Then again, it would be very Apple to introduce dual front cameras after rivals abandoned them.

MySmartPrice has one further titbit to share, dimensions: 146.7 x 71.5 × 7.6mm. If they look familiar, that’s because they are very similar to the iPhone 12. The tiny increase in depth could be connected to rumored battery life increases though they are primarily expected to come from increased hardware efficiencies of the Apple A15 chip, rather than larger physical batteries. Especially with Apple’s new low power drain LPTO ProMotion displays expected to be iPhone 13 Pro model exclusives.

Consequently, if the iPhone 13 is to stand out from its stablemates it might just need to do something crazy. While I remain skeptical, dual front-facing cameras would certainly be that and, with an accelerated release schedule this year, we won’t have to wait long to find out.
