New Anthony Joshua conspiracy theory emerges to explain Andy Ruiz Jr defeat

Another day, another conspiracy theory.

Almost a week after Anthony Joshua suffered a shock defeat by Andy Ruiz Jr, fans still believe there was something untoward in his preparations that explains the loss.

Joshua was knocked down four times en-route to a seventh-round stoppage defeat by the unfancied challenger.

Since then it has been proposed that the Brit suffered a panic attack in his dressing room before the fight, something fans have used to explain the delay in Joshua walking to the ring.

Videos have also been shared on social media of Joshua in the ring before the first bell appearing uneasy.

Another theory is that Joshua was knocked out in sparring by European heavyweight champion Agit Kabayel - but promoter Eddie Hearn revealed Kabayel did not even spar the former ruler.

Now, however, another name has emerged; that of Joey Dawejko who is rumoured to have dropped Joshua in the build-up.

He is of a similar stature to Ruiz and but has lost seven times in his career, including to Charles Martin who Joshua knocked out to win his first world title.

According to World Boxing News, Dawekjo caused the facial injuries Joshua sported last week, marks he brushed off as due to his 'recovery' sessions.

Now Dawejko has reportedly been handed a fight on a forthcoming Matchroom card against Murat Gassiev, something fans believe is no coincidence.

But Hearn has repeatedly refuted any and all conspiracy theories.

"This week has been incredible; the feedback, the conspiracy theories , what happened; he had a panic attack, he was hurt in sparring, all of which are absolute rubbish," he said.

"AJ had a great camp, he spent the last part in Miami then he came to New York and if anything he wasn't panicked enough. I don't feel enough people are giving credit to Andy Ruiz.

"He was phenomenal on the night and hes a fully deserved world champion now.

"Everyone's searching for answers but the answer is AJ got caught by a shot in the third round that he never recovered from. Rather than looking for excuses - which to be honest there are none - just give the respect to Andy Ruiz."
