New Andrew Tate documentary coming to BBC Three

BBC Three is working on an investigative documentary on Andrew Tate, the social media star facing rape and human-trafficking charges.

Provisionally titled Andrew Tate: The Man Who Groomed the World?, the documentary will investigate Tate and his brother Tristan.

Investigative reporter Matt Shea and director Jamie Tahsin have been investigating Tate and his inner circle for four years.

They previously worked together on a documentary titled The Dangerous Rise of Andrew Tate, which was produced by Vice and is currently streaming on BBC iPlayer.

The Tate brothers have been accused of tricking alleged victims into sexual exploitation with “false claims of marriage and love”.

The victims were allegedly placed under continuous surveillance and control, intimidated, and forced into debt.

Andrew and Tristan had been under house arrest in Romania since April, but were released last week following a successful appeal.

A spokesperson for Andrew Tate said: “We embrace the opportunity it presents to demonstrate their innocence.”

Meanwhile, Tate posted on Twitter after the ruling, “After 10 months. 3 in jail, 7 at home. After 15 million euro of asset seizures. After an inditement [sic] based on nothing. The file was passed to a Judge who has ruled it weak and circumstantial. I have been released from house arrest but must remain within Romania.”

Before his arrest, Tate gained millions of followers on social media for posting controversial, misogynistic content. His fans helped share his videos on TikTok, where Tate was banned.

However, Tate currently has more than seven million followers on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Shea said in a statement that the documentary will “uncover Tate’s global network, which spans multiple continents, affects potentially hundreds of victims, and ultimately seek to discover who is really behind Andrew Tate”.

Meanwhile, Nasfim Haque, head of content at BBC Three, said: “Viewers loved Tahsin and Shea’s illuminating first documentary about Andrew Tate. This film continues their brilliant investigative work and reveals even more about how Tate and his organisation operate their global network.”

Mike Radford, an executive producer, added: "The documentary is testament to the tenacity and dedication of Matt and Jamie in investigating Andrew Tate and his organisation.

“It’s important that as many people as possible should be made aware of the workings of him and his close associates."
