IT: Welcome To Derry Series Premiere - HBO
- Release Date: October 26, 2025
- What Is It: The episodic prequel to Warner Bros.’ IT: Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, which will explore how Bill Skarsgård’s Pennywise and the ancient evil's other forms wreaked havoc on the town of Derry and its children in years past.
- Who’s Making It: Director Andy Muschietti, who helmed and produced both WB films, developed the series alongside co-producers Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs, with the latter serving as co-showrunner alongside Brad Caleb Kane (Crystal Lake).
- The Cast: Jovan Adepo, Taylour Paige, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Clara Stack, Blake Cameron James, Amanda Christine, Madeleine Stowe, Kimberly Guerrero, Stephen Rider, Bill Skarsgård,
- Why We’re Most Excited: IT: Welcome to Derry delves into the narrative nooks and crannies of Stephen King's epic novel, and the creative team's goal is to build out each of IT's murderous cycles, and why Derry is the only town that's been affected by those particular nightmares. It's full-tilt King storytelling with CGI monsters for days.

Anne Rice's Talamasca: The Secret Order Series Premiere (AMC)
- Release Date: October 26, 2025
- What Is It: The third entry in AMC's interconnected Immortal Universe of Anne Rice adaptations, Talamasca follows the clandestine faction that keeps track of all the supernatural entities lurking about, from vampires to witches to werewolves.
- Who’s Making It: John Lee Hancock, who went from directing The Blind Side and The Alamo to darker fare like The Little Things and Mr. Harrigan's Phone, created the spinoff, and serves as co-showrunner alongside writer Mark Lafferty (Mayfair Witches, Castle Rock).
- The Cast: Nicholas Denton, maisie Richardson-Sellers, Céline Buckens, Justin Kirk, William Fichtner, Elizabeth McGovern
- Why We’re Most Excited: AMC's Immortal Universe is building up quite nicely, and the Secret Order could deliver some truly bonkers stories, depending on how the storytelling goes. What's more, we already know Interview with the Vampire's Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) will bring some bite via a guest spot or two.

The Creep Tapes Season 2 (Shudder)
- Release Date: November 14, 2025
- What Is It: The second season of Patrick Brice and Mark Duplass' episodic series (itself spunoff from the Creep films) that chronicles the victims of Duplass' killer as his masked alias Peachfuzz.
- Who’s Making It: Mark Duplass serves as the showrunner once more, with co-creator Patrick Brice handling the direction for all episodes.
- The Cast: At this point, only Mark Duplass has been confirmed, with Seaosn 2's guest stars yet to be revealed.
- Why We’re Most Excited: Duplass has remained captivating as a disturbed psycho, and the fact that Shudder has already confirmed Season 3's renewal has me optimistic that the co-creators's best work in this universe is yet to come.

Stranger Things Season 5 (Netflix)
Release Date: November 26. 2025 (Part 1); December 25, 2025 (Part 2); December 31 (Part 3)
What Is It: The final season of the possibly the biggest genre TV show of all time, Stranger Things Season 5 will close out the stories of Hawkins' heroes as they attempt to take down Vecna and eliminate the Upside Down for good, at least until spinoffs bring it back.
Who’s Making It: Co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer returned to the helm, once again with certain episodes spanning feature-length runtimes.
The Cast: Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Brett Gelman, Priah Ferguson, Jamie Campbell Bower, Cara Buono, Linda Hamilton
Why We’re Most Excited: If "Linda Hamilton in Stranger Things" wasn't already a good enough reason, I'm hopeful about all of these characters reaching some kind of closure, as improbable as that may be across eight episodes. The series finale getting a theatrical run is also something to get hyped about.

Anne Rice's The Vampire Lestat Series Premiere (AMC)
- Release Date: TBA 2026
- What Is It: Technically the retitled third season of Interview with the Vampire, which will follow Anne Rice's second Vampire Chronicles novel as its titular character attempts to break out as a rock star.
- Who’s Making It: Rolin Jones is once again back as showrunner for this new entry, and will be EPing opposite the Immortal Universe's overseeing EP Mark Johnson. Craig Zisk directed the season premiere.
- The Cast: Sam Reid, Jacob Anderson, Eric Bogosian, Assad Zaman, Jennifer Ehle, Damien Atkins, Ella Ballentine, Jeanine Serralles, Christopher Heyerdahl, Sheila Atim, Noah Reid, Ryan Kattner, Seamus Patterson, Sarah Swire
- Why We’re Most Excited: Queen of the Damned wasn't exactly the game-changing cinemamtic follow-up to 1994's Interview adaptation, and essentially killed off Anne Rice adaptations for decades. Now it's time to see if the small screen is where this sorded rock band tale will work best, and probably without all the nu metal influences.

FROM Season 4 (MGM+)
- Release Date: TBA 2026
- What Is It: The latest season focusing on a small town of survivors where monsters come out at night.
- Who’s Making It: Creator John Griffin remains the showrunner for the upcoming season, which was ordered up before Season 3's deadly finale cliffhanger, with filming taking place between July-November 2025. (Anthony and Joe Russo also remain on as EPs, though it's unclear how much they actually factor in.)
- The Cast: Harold Perrineau, Catalina Sandino Moreno, David Alpay, Elizabeth Saunders, Scott Mccord, Julia Doyle, Ricky He, Chloe Van Landschoot
- Why We’re Most Excited: Mainly to see what's coming next after everything that went down at the end of Season 3, but generally speaking, it's amazing that FROM itself survived through four seasons despite jumping from defunct platforms YouTube Red and Epix to the hustling and bustling MGM+ in Season 2. Keep Horror TV thriving!

The Institute Season 2 (MGM+)
- Release Date: TBA
- What Is It: The first season of The Institute was by and large a faithful adaptation of Stephen King's novel, save for aging up its characters and that changed-up ending, while the second season will be moving on beyond the source narrative.
- Who’s Making It: Co-developers Benjamin Cavell (showrunner/EP) and Jack Bender (director/EP) will be back to spearhead the story's new direction.
- The Cast: Mary-Louise Parker, Joe Freeman, Ben Barnes
- Why We’re Most Excited: Mary-Louise Parker's villainous portrayal was worth the cost of admission to watching The Institute, not to downplay her co-stars' work, and I'm very intrigured to see where Ms. Sigsby's story goes now that she's no longer attached to King's influence.

Yellowjackets Season 4 (Showtime/Paramount+)
- Release Date: TBA 2026
- What Is It: This fourth and final season of the teen cannibal survivor horror that somehow hasn't suffered all the same "adults playing teens" complaints as Stranger Things.
- Who’s Making It: Co-creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson will thankfully be landing the metaphorical plane for a series that kicked off with a literal plane crash.
- The Cast: Melanie Lynskey, Sophie Nélisse, Tawny Cypress, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Liv Hewson, Courtney Eaton, Christina Ricci, Samantha Hanratty, Warren Kole, Kevin Alves, Sarah Desjacrdins, Elijah Wood, Jenna Burgess
- Why We’re Most Excited: As loyal members of The Hive, we're most eager to see exactly how the soccer team was rescued, and what went on during this final stretch in the wilderness that shaped the rest of their lives.

The Last Of Us Season 3 - HBO
- Release Date: TBA
- What Is It: The third season to the acclaimed survival horror video game adaptation The Last of Us.
- Who’s Making It: Co-creator Neil Druckmann notably exited his role as co-showrunner, along with staff writer Halley Gross, leaving Craig Mazin solely in charge of showrunning duties for The Last of Us Season 3.
- The Cast: Kaitlin Dever, Bella Ramsey, Isabel Mercer, Gabriel Luna, Rutina Wesley, Danny Ramirez, Jeffrey Wright, Pedro Pascal (Possible)
- Why We’re Most Excited: Despite the polarizing choices made in adapting the second game for TV, I'm extremely pumped about seeing a full arc devoted to Kaitlyn Dever's quasi-antagonist Abby and her team that builds back up to the Season 2 finale's cliffhanger.

The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3 (AMC, AMC+)
Release Date: TBA (Production currently happening in Boston)
What Is It: The third season of The Walking Dead’s NYC spinoff centered on Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan and Lauren Cohan's Maggie, as well as both the good-natured and downright evil survivors complicating their lives.
Who’s Making It: When Season 3 was announced a month and change after the second season concluded, it was revealed that former Walking Dead writer and co-EP Seth Hoffman would be taking over showrunner duties from Eli Jorné.
The Cast: Lauren Cohan, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Željko Ivanek, Mahina Napoleon, Logan Kim, Raúl Castillo, Aimee Garcia, Jimmi Simpson
Why We’re Most Excited: The eventual hope is for Negan, Maggie and Hershel to one day return to the main group they vacated years prior, but in the meantime, watching Negan "reunite" with Lucille in Season 2 has me hopeful he'll further reign surpreme in the future.

Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 (Paramount+/Showtime)
Release Date: TBA 2026
What Is It: The follow-up season to the surprisingly successful sequel to Dexter: New Blood, which essentially helped pull the plug on the already renewed prequel Dexter: Original Sin.
Who’s Making It: Franchise mastermind Clyde Phillips continues to lead the killer-killing vigilante into the future.
The Cast: Michael C. Hall, Jack Alcott, James Remar, Eric Stonestreet
Why We’re Most Excited: The first season introduced a banger of a concept by way of Leon Prater's serial killer club, which gave Dexter a few new monsters to track down in the future, including Eric Stonestreet's ponytail-keeping Rapunzel.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3 - AMC
Release Date: TBA
What Is It: The fourth and final season of the Walking Dead spinoff centering on Norman Reedus' seemingly immortal Daryl Dixon and his ever-wandering BFF Carol (Melissa McBride).
Who’s Making It: At this time, it's assumed that co-creator David Zabel will be remaining the guiding light for the spinoff up to its conclusion.
The Cast: Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Romain Levi, Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, Alexandra Masangkay, Hugo Arbués, Candela Saitta
Why We’re Most Excited: Though the Season 3 finale delivered yet another setback for Norman Reedus' character on his quest to return to the U.S., there's hope that this being the final season means he'll be victorious in the end, and fans will get to see another epic Walking Dead reunion.

Crystal Lake Series Premiere (Peacock)
Release Date: TBA (Filming concluded October 2025)
What Is It: The prequelized take on the Friday the 13th franchise's Voorhees family, from Peacock and A24.
Who’s Making It: Crystal Lake began its existence in October 2022 as a Bryan Fuller creation intended to explore Jason Voorhees’ origins and reign of camp-bound terror, but he exited the project in May 2024 over creative differences. In August 2024, Black Sails EP and IT: Welcome to Derry co-showrunner Brad Caleb Kane was brought in to take over creative duties, with O.G. screenwriter Victor Miller serving as an executive producer.
The Cast: Linda Cardellini, William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, Gwendolyn Sundstrom, Callum Vinson
Why We’re Most Excited: Jason Voorhees is one of cinema’s most iconic slasher villains, and I can’t wait to see how anyone will turn the relatively simple formula that fueled twelve Friday the 13th films into a fully functional serialized series.

Carrie - Prime Video
Release Date: TBA
What Is It: A serialized adaptation of Stephen King's first published novel, which has previously inspired an all-time horror classic, a not-so-great movie, and a killer musical.
Who’s Making It: Stephen King adapter extraordinaire, Mike Flanagan (Doctor Sleep, Gerald's Game) is bringing to life a new idea he conceived for how to turn King's first scream queen into a serialized narrative, despite all the other projects he's juggling.
The Cast: Summer H. Howell, Samantha Sloyan, Alison Thornton, Siene Agudong, Matthew Lillard, Amber Midthunder, Josie Totah, Arthur Conti, Joel Oulette
Why We’re Most Excited: Mike Flanagan is responsible for some of the best horror series of all time in Fall of the House of Usher and Midnight Mass, to name just a couple. So to have him expand the story of Stephen King's most iconic scream queen is a dream come true.

Wednesday Season 3 (Netflix)
Release Date: TBA 2027
What Is It: The third season of Netflix’s record-breaking hit horror-comedy, with Jenna Ortega as the titular fatale femme of the beloved Addams Family.
Who’s Making It: Co-creators and co-showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar will be handling duties for Season 3, which was ordered up by Netflix even before Season 2 debuted its split-release. Jenna Ortega will likely be back on board as producer.
The Cast: Jenna Ortega, Hunter Doohan, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Billie Piper, Joanna Lumly, Thandiwe Newton, Christopher Lloyd, Luis Guzmán, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Georgie Farmer, Moosa, Mostafa, Isaac Ordonez, Noah B. Taylor, Evie Templeton
Why We’re Most Excited: Personally, I'm all about seeing as much of Evie Templeton's Wednesday-obsessed Agnes as possible, but I guess it'll also be cool to see who ends up getting cast as Morticia's sister Ophelia, as well as seeing the motley crew hunting for Enid. (If this leads to that long-gestating Uncle Fester spinoff, all the better.

The Conjuring TV Spinoff - Max
Release Date: TBA
What Is It: A TV iteration of Blumhouse wildly successful supernatural horror franchise.
Who’s Making It: HBO boss Casey Bloys first revealed a Conjuring TV project in April 2023, and fans had to wait until June 2024 for him to confirm that it’s still happening. Nothing since then, however, so it’s unclear if any writers have been brought on board to handle scripting duties.
Why We’re Most Excited: With The Conjuring Universe encompassing eight movies at the time of writing, and at least one more on the way, a massive world has been built up surrounding paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren and their frightening discoveries, so it would be awesome to see an anthologized TV show in the vein of the Friday the 13th series set in Curious Goods.

Untitled Halloween TV Show - TBA
Release Date: TBA
What Is It: The first episodic approach to John Carpenter’s Halloween universe, which first came into existence with the 1978 classic and spawned 12 follow-up features.
Who’s Making It: Miramax Television is set to produce the new take on the Shape in partnership with Trancas International Films, which controls the rights to the franchise. As of March 2024, per Deadline, no screenwriters or director(s) have yet been tapped for scripting and helming duties.
Why We’re Most Excited: Rather than attempting to tack a new story onto the myriad events that came before it, the TV show is intended to be a creative reset that directly follows up on Carpenter’s original movie, perhaps in a similar way to David Gordon Green's requel trilogy.
Horror TV Shows That Haven't Been Renewed Yet
- Alien: Earth (FX/Hulu): Season 1 garnered much acclaim before wrapping in September 2025, and there's general optimism for Season 2, but the reportedly massive budget for the first eight episodes may be a deciding factor.
- Revival (Syfy): Based on the Image Comics series of the same name, Revival premiered largely to positive reactions, even if the audience watching through its 10-episode season wasn't gigantic. Syfy has yet to announce future plans following the August finale.
