Loganair has announced a new Cardiff to Glasgow scheduled service from early next year, but there will no service between the two cities for four months after Flybe pulls its existing route next month.
Earlier this year, Flybe confirmed the axing of a number of routes as well as no longer having a permanent base at the Welsh Government-owned airport, from October.
Now Longair has confirmed it will launch a Cardiff to Glasgow service from February 27th next year, but with a smaller plane capacity than the current provision from Flybe.
Operated by a 49-seat Embraer 145 jet aircraft, the new daily route from Loganair will have a flight time of 75 minutes.

“This is an important business route, but the city is also popular with leisure customers – as one of Europe’s most dynamic destinations.
"We’ve got an extremely competitive offering which includes a complimentary baggage allowance and on board refreshments as well as one of the industry’s most attractive frequent flyer schemes so we’re very much looking forward to serving Cardiff Airport.

"I know that our customers will be delighted to know that regular flights to Glasgow are set to continue in the new year.

Loganair has also announced new daily services from next year from Aberdeen to Haugesund, Norway and to the East Midlands and Brussels.
The Brussels flights will run as an "optimised schedule via Newcastle", with Loganair also adding a route to Bergen from Newcastle as well a summer seasonal service to Guernsey.
