New adult-themed crazy golf course named Glory Holes to open in Nottingham

Weird and wacky putting is coming to Nottingham's first adult-only indoor crazy golf course Glory Holes.

Work has begun to transform an empty property in George Street, Hockley, into an epic 18-hole course, complete with a Clubhouse diner and bar.

An opening date at the end of November has been planned.

It's the latest venture for Nottingham entrepreneurs Dan Brown and Drew Hewitt, and the latest addition to the Curious Venues groups which includes the quirkily decked out city centre bars Glass House, Ginsecco, Curious Tavern, Lost Property and Cured - plus The Parlour and the Black Pearl, in West Bridgford.

Dan said: "We have used the recent quiet time in trade to take the opportunity with a vacant space, and to build something really fun for customers. We have an optimistic outlook on what’s happening and just know we will all come out of this.

"As well as being a fantastic fun experience, crazy golf lends itself really well to social distancing as we will have distance between our terrific 18-hole course.

"The experience, props and themed holes are really unique. It is going to be one hell of a Curious Venue adventure. Crazy golf just got crazier.

Some holes have been sponsored by the likes of Beavertown Brewery and Jaegermeister.

A maximum of four people can play per hole and under the current tier two Covid restrictions groups will be limited to members of the same household.

Bookings from November 30 are being taken at enquiries@gloryholesnottingham.co.uk

Frankie Labbate, director of Box Property, who let the property said: "This letting reaffirms the strength and resilience of Hockley throughout what has been the most difficult trading conditions on record.

"This new and exciting venue offers something completely different and engaging to not just Hockley but the whole of Nottingham. It was hugely important for us to move forwards with an operator who is not only well established already but has the vision to bring something vibrant that will complement the already eclectic mix in Hockley which we have strived to shape and maintain over the years.

"During the pandemic, Box Property have successfully completed substantial and important lettings in Hockley to quality and on-trend brands such as Pho, The Fat Hippo and now Glory Holes. We have a long list of quality operators looking to secure space in Hockley so the future remains bright for this part of the city."

The property was most recently Belong gaming bar and for several years was an oriental buffet.

A company called The Illusionist had planned to open a magic and illusion bar but later pulled the plug on the Hockley site.
