New addition Josh Bynes snags interception of Steelers RB Jaylen Samuels

The Baltimore Ravens brought linebacker Josh Bynes back this week after their defense struggled in weeks 3 and 4. And so far, the early returns on Bynes are looking promising. In Baltimore’s Week 5 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Bynes grabbed an interception of Steelers running back Jaylen Samuels.

Yes, you read that right. Take a look at the play.

The Steelers lined up in the wildcat formation, with Samuels receiving the direct snap and dropping back to pass. The defense immediately picked it up with outside Matthew Judon getting into Samuels’ face to throw him off balance. As a result, his pass went nowhere near the intended target, instead falling into the waiting arms of Josh Bynes at the Pittsburgh 15-yard line.

That play has been the difference-maker so far in today’s game, with Baltimore taking advantage of the short field and scoring a touchdown on the next drive. Hopefully, the defense will be able to keep making plays like that with the new personnel.
