A new £7.5 million neighbourhood centre is set to be built as part of a growing mixed-use commercial and residential development.
New plans have been unveiled to build the centre, which will have a convenience store, shop and 48 apartments, on the Blythe Valley Park scheme in Solihull.
The overall vision for the new park is to have up to 750 houses to sit alongside a business estate, pre-school, gym, café and nursery which have already been delivered.
Richard Knight, technical director for IM Properties which is leading the scheme, said: “We've had a vision right from the start that Blythe Valley Park would set the standard for sustainable mixed-use schemes in the region.
“We already have several key elements of our community strategy in place.
“We have been working alongside our residential partners, Bloor Homes and Crest Nicholson who are on site delivering new homes, with a number of occupants now living at Blythe Valley.
“It's the right time to deliver a blended core which benefits those that are already residents and future residents at the scheme.
“The investment to deliver the centre is significant but the feedback we've already received from occupiers confirms our belief the new amenity offering and central hub will significantly add to the scheme and enhance the community feel.”
The centre is due to open in spring 2021 while planning permission is also in place to build a new 80-bed care home facility.
