New £500,000 Co-Op store opens in Nottinghamshire - with a Costa coffee dispenser

New jobs have been created with the opening of a new Nottinghamshire Co-Op store.

The organisation has invested more than £500,000 in its 2,500 sq ft venue in Newark which includes a bakery and Costa coffee dispenser.

The store in Beacon Hill Road, which has created 15 jobs, will also provide a 10 percent discount to students with NUS extra cards, in a bid to support them during their studies.

Phil Cooper, Co-Op area manager, said: "We have had a great response, and are delighted to have had the opportunity to make such a significant investment in Newark - the store has a great look and range in order to enable the Co-op to serve the needs of the local community.

"It’s all about getting closer to our members and customers, providing what they want, need and care about, conveniently."

The branch will be providing a funding boost, with members receiving a five percent on own-brand products and services they purchase and the Co-Op donating one percent to local causes.
