Neville's boxing jibe at Jamie Carragher backfires as Liverpool legend shows up Man Utd great

Jamie Carragher has been spending this evening sparring with Kell Brook live on Sky Sports and Liverpool fans will love what he said.

The former IBF welterweight title from 2014 to 2017 joined pundits Carragher and Gary Neville ahead of the kick-off of the match between Sheffield United and West Ham this evening.

Ex-Liverpool star Carragher , a well known boxing fan and enthusiast who trains regularly at Rotunda Boxing Club in Kirkdale , couldn't resist getting on the gloves live on Sky as he enjoyed a spot of punching the pads, with Brook doing the honours of holding the targets.

Neville attempted to provide a joke at Carragher's expense when asking Brooks to have a mild sparring session with the Liverpool legend.

The United great said: "He fancies himself a bit of a boxer so are you willing to put the pads on?"

Brook duly obliged before Carragher asked Neville: "Are you not having a go?"

Neville replied: "I don't think so, no, I'll referee."

After showing some neat boxing skills, Brook said: "Very good, he's done that before."

Carragher classically responded by saying: "I'm going to put you in the Kop!"

Friday Night Football presenter Kelly Cates ended the sequence with a wonderful swipe at Neville.

She added: "This could go on all night and Gary has got no chance of getting involved in this."
