'Never seen a worse goalkeeper' - Chelsea fans slam Kepa Arrizabalaga after Arsenal draw

It was another disappointing game at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea as the Blues failed to beat 10-men Arsenal in their Premier League encounter on Tuesday evening.

The Blues were pegged back by Mikel Arteta's team on two occasions in the second-half after a penalty from Jorginho gave them a half-time lead.

It was that penalty incident that lead to former Chelsea defender David Luiz being shown a red card on his return to Stamford Bridge after bringing down Tammy Abraham, leaving the Gunners one man down for the next 60 minutes.

Gabriel Martinelli equalised for Arsenal in the second-half, but the Blues could have been forgiven to think they had scored the winner when Cesar Azpilicueta turned in a corner within the last 10 minutes.

But just three minutes after, their opponents were back level. Hector Bellerin's shot found its way past Kepa Arrizabalaga to send the away end into raptures.

The two Gunners goals were scored with the team's only two shots of the game, leading to some question marks over the Chelsea goalkeeper.

After the game, former Blues midfielder Joe Cole gave his assessment on Kepa's form.

"I think the next five months are massive for Kepa’s career and his career at Chelsea,” he told BT Sport.

“You look at the David De Gea situation and how he grew into the Premier League, this guy has been here in 18 months now and we need to see him improving in areas like crosses.

“He has seemed nervous, he backs onto his line too much. It’s hard to criticise him because there is nothing glaring but I think there is enough in his game where the question marks will be there."

Fans have also been questioning the goalkeeper, with some taking to social media to demand that he be dropped or sold.

After the game, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard responded to the criticism aimed at Kepa.

"I know there's a focus on him at the minute. That's top line football," he said

"Yes, with his feet, a couple of times today he took too long and he nearly gave it away. That can sometimes change the momentum of a game that he will know, has to look at and we will have to look at.

"Yes, it is normal. Any player in a position particularly like goalkeepers will look at you. Particularly, the mettle you have got. He is not the only one."
