'Never scored a goal like that' - Roy Keane aims jibe at former Manchester United teammate

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane quipped at his former teammate Andy Cole after his son, Devante, scored a screamer for Barnsley.

Devante Cole scored the pick of the goals in a remarkable 5-4 win for the Tykes as they needed extra-time in the FA Cup Third Round to beat Barrow in an enthralling contest.

His dad Andy scored 121 goals at Old Trafford and established himself as one of the most potent finishers under Sir Alex Ferguson in a successful team which featured Ireland international Keane.

As Devante Cole enjoyed the plaudits for his curling effort, his father was on the end of a jibe from Keane and Ian Wright during ITV's coverage of the third round.

"Brilliant," the 50-year-old lauded. "Coley never scored a goal like that, never, never, he was in there getting the tap ins."

The 26-year-old was born in May 1995, months after Cole's shock move to Sir Alex's side and he spent six years at Manchester before he moved to Blackburn Rovers.

United avoided Barnsley in the FA Cup Fourth Round as they were pitted against Middlesbrough - should they see off Aston Villa on Monday night.
