'Never given a proper chance': Bristol City fans react as Rodri leaves Ashton Gate

Bristol City fans have been reacting to the news that Spanish striker Rodri has left the club.

The former Sheffield Wednesday forward joined the club in a short term deal in October after the injury to on loan Stoke City striker Benik Afobe and went on to make six appearances for City.

A short club statement read: "Bristol City can confirm that Rodri has left the club following the end of his contract.

"The Spanish striker arrived in BS3 on a short-term deal in October, making six Sky Bet Championship appearances for the Robins.

"The club would like to thank Rodri for his efforts and wish him well for the future."

Robins fans have been reacting to the news, with many saying that they would have liked to see Rori given more minutes on the pitch. However several fans see this as a gateway for the signing of Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah.

See what fans are saying below.

Tom Cuff: He looked decent, played a big part in the Josh Brownhill winner against Charlton.

BristolCity_Fan: Never given a proper chance. Looked a good player.

Adam Robinson: Bloke deserved more of a chance.

Ella: Best of luck Rodri.

JH: Announce it [Nketiah]. Give me strength.

G.B.: Lots of room for a new 9 now. You know, like one that might’ve leaked last night? Just a thought.

Jame Wilson: We would [have] been better off keeping Matty Taylor than signing him.

Joshua Hicks: He had some potential in him, we never gave him a chance but can’t exactly say I blame him.

Roe: Absolute waste of time. 151 league minutes taken away from the likes of Semenyo, Szmodics and Palmer. You know players we supposedly believe in.

Ashley Gent: Announce Nketiah

Edward Studley: #AnnounceNketiah

Jon Gradwell: Didn’t give us anything, should have kept Matty Taylor.

Scott: No point in signing him

Michael: Not convinced he's half as bad as people seem to believe. Was never going to be our star striker, but feel be did a decent job whenever he played.
