A fresh development in the transfer emerged last night when Allan was not included in Napoli’s matchday squad for a pre-season friendly.
Gennaro Gattuso named a mixed line-up including the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly, with Lorenzo Insigne and new signing Victor Osimhen on the bench, but Allan was nowhere to be seen.
Improving the midfield has been the Blues' focus this summer and Ancelotti is now close to the first senior signing of his reign as manager.
