'Never doubted my bowling action': Australia spinner Kuhnemann after getting all-clear from ICC

Matthew Kuhnemann has received an all-clear on his bowling action from the International Cricket Council after the left-arm spinner was reported for a suspect bowling action during Australia's Test series win on the tour of Sri Lanka

The 28-year-old said he never had doubts about his action despite it being called out.

"It was a disappointing way to finish what was such a successful Test series for Australia," he said in a statement. "I've never doubted my bowling action throughout my career and I'm always looking to improve the art of spin bowling in different conditions," said Kuhnemann.

According to cricket regulations, bowlers must maintain their arm flex within 15 degrees whilst delivering the ball, with any excess movement considered unlawful.

If Kuhnemann had failed the assessment, he would have been barred from bowling until he corrected his action and cleared a follow-up evaluation.

"I thought the process itself was quite fair and I appreciated the professional manner in which testing was explained to me and then conducted," he added.

In his short international career so far. Kuhnemann has played five Tests and four ODIs.
