Nevanda newspaper endorses marijuana legalisation

A newspaper in northern Nevada has surprisingly endorsed the decriminalisation of marijuana. Running counter to the conservative image of rural America, the Lahontan Valley News and Fallon Eagle Standard told its readers: "Those who view marijuana as a blight on society have yet to offer an effective solution of how to stop its spread through society." Eric Herzik, a political science professor at the University of Nevada in Reno, explained: "Rural Nevada, while often thought to be conservative, is often more libertarian.
