Nevada (4-4) vs. New Mexico (2-6) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
It’s feast or famine for a strange Nevada team that can’t seem to generate any sort of consistent offense … and then comes a 41-point hit against San Jose State.
Losers of three of their last four games, the Wolf Pack are still alive for a bowl game if they can just win two of their last four. It all starts with needing to drop a bad New Mexico team like AP chemistry.
The Lobos can’t seem to generate any of their own luck, and they can’t seem to come up with any big defensive stops to change around their season. Losers of five straight, they have the nation’s worst pass defense, the second-worst overall defense, they’re not taking the ball away, and they’re just not able to come up with that one big play at the one right time.
Nevada isn’t doing a whole lot of anything right, either, but it can stop the run, it can work the clock a bit, and it has a wee bit of a passing game in spurts if freshman QB Carson Strong can keep from throwing picks.
These two are each just bad enough to put on a decent show. Nevada will get the O going at home. Once again, the New Mexico secondary won’t come through when needed.
