The Nevada Wolf Pack return home to Reno to take on the Fresno State Bulldogs on Saturday evening. The contest between the Wolf Pack and the Bulldogs is the only regular season meeting between the two schools.The Wolf Pack are looking to defeat the Bulldogs for the fifth straight game and secure a first round bye in the upcoming Mountain West tournament.
The Wolf Pack are coming into this contest on Saturday winners of their last four games. Nevada’s last game was a 88-74 victory on the road against the New Mexico Lobos on Tuesday night. In that game, Wolf Pack guard Jalen Harris had another stellar game as he scored 26 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the win over the Lobos in Albuquerque.
Jazz Johnson scored 15 points in the win over New Mexico which put Johnson over the 1,500 point mark in his college career. Lindsey Drew scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds and four assists for Nevada on Tuesday. That stat line that Drew put up against the Lobos placed him in the history books for Nevada basketball. Drew is the first Wolf Pack player in program history to score 900 points, 600 rebounds and 500 assists which is a remarkable feat for Drew.
The Wolf Pack are taking on a Fresno State team that has an overall record of 10-17 and a 6-10 conference record. The Bulldogs are coming off a 71-62 victory over Air Force on Wednesday night.
For Fresno State, forward Orlando Robinson leads the team in points per game as he is averaging 12.7 points per game this season. Brown’s fellow front court teammate, Nate Grimes is averaging a double double this season as he is averaging 11.6 points per game and ten rebounds per game. Another player to watch for is Noah Blackwell, Blackwell is only averaging nine points per game but he did score a career high 25 points against Air Force on Wednesday.
