Neutrals aren't going anywhere in 2026, and Kourtney Kardashian's dining room is a masterclass in styling them in line with trends – her design is equal parts soothing and rock 'n' roll

Hold your horses, maximalists, minimalist color schemes aren't dead yet. However, they are getting a makeover. In the coming year, our neutrals will be richer, more layered, and more cocooning. Kourtney Kardashian's dining room is a masterclass in the imminent style.

We spotted the socialite's modern take on decorating with neutrals in an Instagram post shared by her husband, Travis Barker. The space has all the hallmarks of contemporary neutrals - it's awash in cream, beige, tan, and black. A red, tan, and black bat paiting adds a touch of edge. From the sideboard to the dining table, every inch of the room is expertly styled.

According to Magdalena Gierasinka, a design expert at Barker and Stonehouse, this look aligns perfectly with 2026 color trends. She states: 'As we embrace the season ahead, there’s a growing desire to create interiors that feel grounded, restorative, and deeply connected to nature. Earthy tones, think warm terracottas, soft clays, rich ochres, and muted greens, set the perfect foundation for a dining room that’s both calming and welcoming.'

As Kourtney and Travis's space demonstrates, decorating with natural wood is one of the most important ways to make warm neutrals stylish.

Magdalena advises: 'To achieve this look, incorporate natural materials such as wood, stone, and ceramic, which not only add texture and depth but also bring a tactile, organic quality to the space. Furniture in oak or walnut instantly warms a room, while stone accessories or earthenware tableware can introduce subtle, sculptural accents.'

Small details, like the fabric and lighting you use can have just as big of an impact as the furniture in creating a stunning neutral dining room.

Magdalena suggests: 'Layering textiles in natural fibers, such as linen table runners, cotton cushions, or wool throws, which enhances the cozy, lived-in feel. Complementary lighting, such as warm-toned pendants or candlelight, further softens the mood, creating a setting that feels intimate and functional in equal measure.'

'The result is a dining room that balances beauty with practicality, inviting you to slow down and enjoy moments of togetherness in a space that feels timeless and serene,' she concludes.

No matter the year, cozy neutrals will always be in. Styling them with intention and warmth is the best way to create a room that survives changing trends.
