Nets Trade Kevin Durant to Suns in Reported Blockbuster

Two days after dealing away Kyrie Irving, the Nets have now traded their other superstar: Kevin Durant.

Durant is heading to Phoenix as part of a blockbuster deal, with Brooklyn receiving a huge return with multiple young players and first-round picks, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The Suns are sending Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, four first-round picks and additional draft compensation, according to Charania. The Nets will also receive forward Jae Crowder. The four first-round picks are unprotected selections in 2023, ‘25, ‘27 and ‘29, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The move is the latest in a whirlwind week for the Nets, who—despite a 116–112 loss to the Suns on Wednesday—remain 32–22 on the season and in possession of the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference. Phoenix is tied with Dallas for the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference.

Durant, 34, is averaging 29.7 points per game over 39 contests this season. He is due to make nearly $200 million over the next four seasons, with his contract running through the 2025-26 campaign.
