NEW YORK _ Both the Nets and the Bulls stepped out on the court Monday night at Barclays Center riding downward streaks.
When their game was over, Brooklyn's eight-game losing skid was over and Chicago's losing skid was still going at four.
The Nets emerged with a 104-87 win, their 20th in 61 games, matching their victory total for all of last season.
Allen Crabbe paced them with 21 points. Jarrett Allen contributed 18 points and nine rebounds. DeMarre Carroll had 18 points, six rebounds and five assists, and Joe Harris added 15 points and seven rebounds. Brooklyn went 16-for-42 from 3-point range.
The Nets had dropped 12 of their previous 13 games. The Bulls fell to 20-40 after losing for the 12th time in their last 14 games. Kris Dunn led them with 23 points, and Lauri Markkanen had 19.
Allen asserted himself inside in the third quarter, scoring 10, including a power slam over Markkanen.
The Nets scored the first nine points after halftime to go up 58-51. They led 64-58 on another Allen dunk. Then David Nwaba was called for a flagrant foul on Allen. The rookie center made both free throws and the Nets retained the ball. Carroll hit a three and got fouled to make it a four-point play, six-point sequence and 70-58 lead.
After Dunn followed with a jumper, Crabbe knocked down a three from straightaway to swell the margin to 13. Later in the third, Spencer Dinwiddie hit a three to make it a 14-point game, which was the margin heading into the fourth. The lead reached as many as 22 in the fourth quarter.
